BUYER BEWARE! CAUTION!!
I'm posting this as a caution to anyone considering ordering from Bigardini.
I paid $1,050 for a Giovanni Men's Winter Jacket with Shearling Collar (Order #1287) and it arrived with an obvious workmanship defect: the buttons on the left sleeve are misaligned compared to the right (see photo). This isn’t a “preference” issue — it’s incorrectly sewn.
What matters most is how they handled it. They assured me:
“We do not sell seconds, faulty, or substandard products under any circumstances.” Then in the same exchange they said: “While the jacket meets our quality standards…”
So either (a) they shipped a defective item, or (b) their “quality standards” allow visible mis-sewn sleeve buttons on a $1,050 jacket. Neither option should make a buyer feel safe.
They tried to downgrade the defect as: “a minor cosmetic imperfection” that “does not constitute a structural or functional defect,”…then offered €30 “as a gesture of goodwill.”
Meanwhile, a local seamstress quoted $125 to correct it properly. They refused to reimburse repair costs.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to offer reimbursement for third-party repair costs, and no further compensation can be approved.”
And here’s the kicker: they said I can return it — but even though the defect arrived that way, they still require the customer to pay return shipping:
“Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.”
BUT, their return policy states, "Customers are responsible for return shipping costs UNLESS the item is defective or INCORRECT." Yes, it certainly was!
So Bigardini’s effective policy (based on my experience) is: if your item arrives defective, your choices may be accept a small refund and keep the defect,
pay out-of-pocket to fix it, or pay to ship it back for a refund.
That is not “premium” anything. That is shifting the cost of their quality control onto the customer.
BUYER BEWARE: if you order online, assume that if there’s a defect, you may be stuck spending additional money just to be made whole. I strongly recommend taking screenshots of their policies, photographing the item immediately, and being ready for a dispute if you don’t want to eat the cost.
I would 100% definitely NOT purchase from them again.
